At Bright Education we provide students with the opportunity to undertake challenges in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths and gain Crest Star Awards.  These activities are very hands-on and led by a STEM ambassador.

In our STEM clubs we encourage children to explore, investigate and discover STEM subjects in a stimulating learning environment which allows students to work together and explore many different ideas and activities. Although they complement the curriculum, the activities are not about writing, tests, or exams; they involve practical experiments, investigation, discussion and reflection. Most of all, they are fun.

The Crest Award Scheme gives students the opportunity to:

  • solve a relevant, science-based problem, set within a context
  • work in pairs or small groups, independently of adults
  • take part in practical, hands-on science activities
  • think and talk about science, during the activity and when sharing their ideas
  • share their ideas using a variety of media.

The activities develop the children's scientific enquiry skills in an enjoyable context with links to the curriculum where appropriate. They can motivate and build confidence in young people who struggle with STEM subjects, and provide an extra outlet for children who already show aptitude and are interested in furthering their learning.
